Forever Forest Light Up Card

by Joan Barbret, September 11, 2023
When playing with the Forever Forest Bundle I decided to try and make a "Light Up" card. This card is pretty during the day but even prettier at night.

Card Base:
  • Cardstock measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored at 4 1/4 and 6 1/4 on the long side
  • Second piece of cardstock measures 5 1/2 x 6 3/4 scored at 4 1/4 and 6 1/2 on the long side.
  • Adhere both pieces together by applying adhesive to the 1/2 inch piece of cardstock.
  • Using a die (round, oval or rectangle) cut out your frame on the 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 section of the cardstock where you adhered them together.
  • Cut a piece of vellum 5 1/4 x 4 to put into the frame. Apply adhesive on the back side and adhere the vellum with the front facing out (if you are using an embossing folder.
  • Decorate as you wish.

I added a battery operated tea light to add a warm glow at night.

Here is a video tutorial with the measurements and how to put the card  together https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X2tqu_2FGL4

Tip: When using embossing paste with a stamped image it is best to "seal" the image with clear embossing powder. I found that if I just put the embossing paste directly on the stamp image it bled and I ended up with pink snow. Also, make sure the embossing paste is dry before adhering the trees to the card.
